The article published by Bao Tin Tuc va Dan Toc/VNA reports on the workshop “Research and Discussion on the Dakcheung Bauxite–Alumina Mining and Processing Project in Sekong Province”, held in Vientiane on 10 September 2026 with the participation of representatives of Lao authorities, the Embassy of Vietnam in Laos, local authorities, experts and VLV.
The workshop focused on the Project implementation plan, technical and technological solutions, human resource development, and related economic and social matters. The article also notes the Project’s development orientation based on integrating mining with downstream processing, while placing emphasis on environmental protection, employment opportunities for local communities and contributions to the socio-economic development of Dakcheung District and Sekong Province, as well as to Vietnam–Laos economic cooperation.
