VLV identifies occupational health, safety and environmental (HSE) as a continuous requirement throughout the investment, construction and operation of the project. The company is committed to building an HSE management system in accordance with the laws of the Lao People's Democratic Republic, the project requirements and applicable practices. PRINCIPLES OF IMPLEMENTATION
1. Compliance with laws and project requirements
- Comply with the laws and regulations of the Lao People's Democratic Republic and approved environmental commitments.
- Refer to the relevant principles of ISO 14001, ISO 45001 and the World Bank Group's EHS guidelines where applicable. Application requirements.
2. Risk Identification and Control
- Identify hazards, assess risks, and develop control measures before performing the work.
- Apply job safety analysis to risky activities.
- Empower personnel to stop work when unsafe conditions or behaviors are detected.
3. Occupational Health Protection
- Control harmful factors in the workplace.
- Implement workplace environmental monitoring and appropriate health care for workers.
4. Environmental Protection
- Control dust, noise, exhaust fumes, wastewater, and waste.
- Efficient use of resources, energy, and water.
- Implement measures to protect the ecosystem and Environmental restoration according to the approved plan.
5. Incident Response
- Develop an emergency response plan appropriate to each phase of the project.
- Organize training, drills, and maintain the necessary resources to handle incidents.
6. Continuous Training and Improvement
- Provide HSE training for workers and contractors before and during the work process.
- Record, investigate, and - Learn from incidents, near misses, and unsafe behaviors.
- Monitor performance and continuously improve the HSE management system.
