HSE is recognized by VLV as a key foundation throughout project investment, construction, preparations for operations, and future operations. HSE considerations are progressively integrated into project management and implementation to proactively identify hazards, control risks, and protect employees, assets, the environment, and local communities.
VLV is progressively developing an HSE management system aligned with the laws and regulations of the Lao PDR, actual project requirements, and relevant standards and practices selected for application.
Incident Prevention
Proactively identify and control hazards to prevent occupational accidents, work-related illnesses, technical incidents, and environmental incidents.
Protection of People
Protect the health and safety of employees, contractors, visitors, and other parties involved in Project activities.
Environmental Protection
Control and minimize impacts on the environment, natural resources, and local communities throughout Project implementation and operations.
Enhancing HSE Awareness
Build a strong safety culture and enhance HSE awareness and accountability among employees and organizations participating in the Project.
Compliance & Application of Standards
Comply with applicable legal requirements and HSE obligations, while progressively referencing relevant requirements of ISO 14001, ISO 45001, and applicable Environment, Health and Safety (EHS) Guidelines where selected or required for application.
Hazard Identification & Risk Control
Identify hazards, assess risks, and establish appropriate control measures before and during work activities.
Occupational Health & Safety
Maintain safe working conditions, with a strong focus on preventing occupational accidents and work-related illnesses and protecting employee health.
Environmental Protection
Control resource use, waste generation, dust, air emissions, wastewater, and other factors that may affect the environment.
Emergency Response
Progressively develop response plans, resources, and coordination mechanisms to proactively address emergency situations and minimize consequences when incidents occur.
Training & Continuous Improvement
Provide training, strengthen HSE capabilities, monitor performance, and progressively improve the management system based on actual implementation experience.
Safety Comes First
Employees are encouraged to proactively report hazards and stop work when they identify conditions or behaviors that may pose a safety risk, in accordance with the Company’s HSE management procedures.
VLV aims to build a safe, responsible, and continuously improving working environment in which HSE is integrated into the management, implementation, and operational preparation of the Dakcheung Bauxite–Alumina Industrial Complex Project.
